Sarah and Dave’s Wedding

So, I just realized that I put these photos up on Facebook, but completely overlooked doing a blog post with the photos!! For those that are on Facebook, be sure to become a fan of A Moment in Time Photography at www.facebook.com/amomentintimephotography . Anyways, back to Sarah and Dave. They were married out at Reese Technology Center in Lubbock, and I have got to say, it was stunningly beautiful. Much thanks should be given to their wedding decorator and coordinator Lilli of Weddings by Lilli Renee.

While the girls were still doing makeup, hair, and getting all of their accessories for the day organized, I had some time to snag a few photos of Sarah’s dress. Don’t you just love dresses with the bunched skirts?

Sarah and her bridesmaids doing the final touches to getting ready… zipping the dress up is always the last step, and really solidifies that the day is here! The dress is on, and we are ready to get married!!

img_0679-for-blog

Waiting for the ceremony to begin, we got a little extra photo op.

img_0821-for-blog

Sarah and Dave’s ring bearer was the cutest! I mean, ahem, manly.:)

img_0832-for-blog

Their flower girl was also super sweet. Sarah’s flowers were also very pretty – tulips and hydrangeas. Although, the tulips weren’t such a fan of the heat that day!

Final secrets before the ceremony begins.

img_0844-for-blog

Dave and Sarah’s daughter, Lillibelle, was also a flower girl. Her sash and Sarah’s sash matched!

img_0848-for-blog

Sarah and Dave decided to not see eachother before the ceremony, but I had to snag this photo right before Sarah walked down the aisle. Dave was SO worried that I was going to position him too close and that he was accidentally going to see her!

img_0853-for-blog

Sarah’s dad and stepdad walked her down the aisle. Here she is with her dad.

img_0952-version-2-for-blog

And here is her stepdad.

img_0953-version-2-for-blog

Didn’t Lilli Renee do such a wonderful job?

img_0967-for-blog

Sarah’s colors were green and purple, and so Lilli Renee incorporated the green lanterns and purple flowers with greenery.

img_0977-1-for-blog

Lillibelle was such a daddy’s little girl during the ceremony, and so Dave held her almost the whole ceremony. She was too cute, and wanted to be a part of the special day.

img_1038-1-for-blog

After the ceremony, Sarah and Dave devoted about 20 minutes to do photos with just the two of them. (well, some with the three of them!)

img_1420-for-blog

I told Lillibelle to kiss her daddy on the cheeck, and she just kept making a kiss face, so I had Sarah and Dave do the same! Isn’t this photo precious?!

The star of the show.

All the groomsmen and ushers. They were having a good time while we were taking photos.

img_1664-for-blog

The next few are also the product of our 20 minutes of alone time to get just Sarah and Dave photos.

img_1757-for-blog

Can you see the reflection in Dave’s sunglasses? It is his three groomsmen!!

img_1772-1-for-blog

Sarah and Dave had a dinner at their reception. The floral arrangement at the front of this photo was so pretty! Also, you can see the mariachi band behind Sarah and Dave serenading the bridal party!

img_1838-for-blog

The wedding cake was a cupcake tier, and I took some time while the guests were eating dinner to get some cool ring shots!

img_1853-version-2-for-blog

Sarah and Dave chose one of their engagement photos to matte for their guests to sign as their sign in book! I love the colored pens they chose instead of plain black.

Sarah and Dave’s first dance as a married couple!

The groom’s table. Dave’s dad had passed away, and so on his table was a tribute. Dave also wore his dad’s cufflinks this day.

img_2971-for-blog

I am thinking this was the first time for them to cut cake in front of a lot of people!!

img_3067-for-blog

Dave’s cake was a double – T for Texas Tech! The DJ played the fight song for the Raiders after they cut the cake, and everyone paused to support the Red Raiders!

Sarah and Dave after dinner, but before too much of the dancing.

As it got dark, I stepped outside and saw that the beautiful lights sparkled so brightly now, and I just knew that we had to go back outside to take a few more just bride and groom photos. I am so glad I did, because we got this next photo, along with the photo that I used for Sarah and Dave’s sneek peak.

img_3473-for-blog

Sometimes you will get a bride and a groom that are a bit sheepish and shy about the garter. This was not one of those times!!

img_3537-for-blog

Sarah’s sisters and friends had rented them a limo to go away in as a surprise! So, of course, we had to get a limo shot. I must say, I got a little bit more than I bargained for with this limo shot, don’t you think, Sarah, Erin, and girls??:)

Congrats to Sarah, Dave, and Lillibelle! Thank you for having me photograph your special day!

Scott and Krystal’s Wedding Photos

Scott and Krystal were married in July, and the wedding was absolutely beautiful! Scott and my husband Zane used to work together at the Recreational Sports Center at Texas Tech, and we were so thrilled when he met Krystal!! This couple truly has a passion for Christ, and have intentions of going into the mission field within the next several years – how great! Scott and Krystal are members at Redeemer, and they just got a new church building several months ago. This is wonderful, considering that before this building, Redeemer met wherever it could – in the Convention Center downtown, in a meeting room in the Holiday Inn downtown, but no more! Now they are at 66th and Elgin in Lubbock! Alright, enough chatter, now for the photos!!

Krystal started her day by having her hair done by Tom and Mr. Tom’s on 50th Street. He did an absolutely wonderful job, and finished her hair a lot faster than I thought he would!! Sometimes brides with longer hair can be at a salon for hours, but I think she was done in about 45 minutes!

layher-0015-for-blog

We got to the church, and Krystal started putting on her dress. For all you brides out there that haven’t gotten married yet, plan LOTS of time to put on your dress!! You don’t know how long it takes, by the time you put on the undergarments, the petticoat, fluff the petticoat, get your shoes on (do that before putting on your dress, trust me!) one last bathroom run (also do before putting on the dress!) it can take a while to get all together! Here, Krystal’s mom was helping her fluff her petticoat. Most have at least 2-3 layers that need fluffed.

One of the most wonderful things about having a second shooter at your wedding is extra detail shots!! To me, the details make up the wedding, and second shooters are so helpful in making sure that each detail is properly documented.

layher-0080-for-blog

These girls had a little bit of drama ordering their dresses, but luckily it was all straightened out by the day of the wedding! However, they zipped up then laced up the back, and those laces took some skill to lace up!

layher-0105-for-blog

Of course, as the girls are primping, the guys are killing time. What did Scott and his buddies do? Play ping pong and X Box of course!!

layher-0107-for-blog

Something tells me things weren’t exactly going Scott’s way as this photo was taken…

layher-0148-for-blog

Scott and Krystal’s cake (pictured below) as well as their cupcake tier for the groom’s cake (not pictured) was provided by United Supermarkets Bakery. This is one of several times that I have photographed a wedding that United Supermarkets has done the cake, and once again, it was beautiful. Not only was it beautiful, but I had a sample, and it was super de-lish and moist!! The best kind of wedding cake! Beautiful and yummy!

layher-0248-for-blog

Another wonderful detail shot taken by our second shooter for the day, Lain Eubank! This shot is looking down the cylinder vases that made up the centerpieces for the tables.

layher-0254-for-blog

Time for the formals! I think these next few were the most serious of all of the groomsmen that we got that day – those guys were total hams…. just see a few photos below of them at the reception!

layher-0271-for-blog

layher-0323-for-blog

And now the girls… Aren’t Krystal’s flowers beatiful? White roses and hydrangeas.

bridesmaids-collage

During the first parts of the reception, I will usually snag the rings to take a few shots of just the rings. This one was taken on a handheld mirror! Scott’s ring says “I am my beloved’s and my beloved is mine” from the Song of Solomon.

layher-0341-for-blog

Krystal’s bridesmaids surrounded her in prayer just as she was about to walk down the aisle. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house!

layher-0344-for-blog

Another benefit of having a second shooter is the ability for one of us to get the groom’s reaction of the bride walking down the aisle, as well as the bride’s reaction of seeing her soon-to-be husband for the first time! There is nothing like a man’s face when he sees his bride walking down the aisle towards him.

layher-0437-for-blog

Isn’t the architecture of this church cool? I just love the beams!

layher-0462-for-blog

Here is Scott’s mom, dad, and sister, so happy to see their son and brother so happy!

layher-0483-for-blog

See how happy he is? :0)

layher-0497-for-blog

Also as part of Scott and Krystal’s ceremony, they decided to serve communion. The ushers served everyone while Scott’s sister sang a beautiful song for them. Scott and Krystal had communion, as well as their “unity” time with rocks engraved for their wedding.

layher-0552-for-blog

layher-0562-for-blog

Don’t you just love a couple’s first kiss as man and wife?

layher-0620-for-blog

Right after the ceremony. I think Krystal’s face says it all.

layher-0639-for-blog

Cake time!! All of the next photos were taken at the reception, also at Redeemer.

layher-0821-for-blog

First dance!

layher-0866-for-blog

Mother / Son dance. Isn’t Scott’s mom just beautiful?

layher-0947-for-blog

For Krystal’s something old, she wore shoes that she had worn to her high school formal. They were cute, but HIGH high heels!! For the reception, she decided to go with something a bit more comfortable – who can blame her? This is my second wedding that has sported Converse shoes… remember Daniel and Laken’s wedding where all of the girls sported hot pink Converse?

layher-1095-for-blog

The crazy groomsmen were at it again right after the garter was tossed!

layher-1122-for-blog

They also got one of the bridesmaid’s bouquets and decided to have a little fun with it, as well!

groomsmen-collage

Scott and Krystal left to bubbles… it was such a hit with all of the kids!

layher-1132-for-blog

They were going to leave in Scott’s car, but Krystal’s parents had something different in mind. They were thinking less of an every day (but nice) car, and more of a ROLLS ROYCE!!

layher-1144-for-blog

layher-1171-for-blog

layher-1173-for-blog

In each and every wedding, I ALWAYS recommend (ok, I plead!) for at least 30 minutes to do bride and groom only photos. Since Scott and Krystal decided to not see eachother before the wedding, we went on a little photo shoot after they left! Lucky for us, because then we could incorporate the getaway car!

layher-1212-for-blog

layher-1221-for-blog

Although, at the end of the extended photo shoot, I think someone was a little ready for the honeymoon… :0)

I hope that you all enjoyed getting to relive Scott and Krystal’s wedding day with me!! See older posts to view Krystal’s bridals and their engagement session!

Will and Jennifer’s E-Session

Last week, I had the pleasure of shooting Will and Jennifer’s Engagement session. After talking a bit about what they would like, they decided to break the mold a little bit with what they were wanting! They decided to do photos at the park where they had their first date (at 3AM!! They both had crazy work schedules at the time, and this is the time that worked out for them!!) and it is also the site of their first kiss. After we decided on the park, Jennifer let me know that they met at karate classes, and they had samurai swords that they wanted to incorporate into the shoot, but just didn’t know how or where to do that! They wanted a mystical type feel to those samurai sword photos. I think it came out great!! Also, towards the end of the shoot, we found out that we had been shooting all this time next to a llama’s pin!! There was a donkey in there with the llama, and so that is the photo at the end of the post.

Scroll all the way down to see the slideshow of their engagement session!! Disclaimer :: there is music, so if you aren’t at home looking, you might want to turn the sound off!!
