One-on-One Sessions!

Hear ye, hear ye! A Moment in Time Photography has a lot of new and exciting things going on! I hope if you are on my blogsite right now, and not just reading through an RSS reader, that you see my brand spankin’ new blogsite design! It still has a few pages being updated, but I got the go-ahead to go live, and here we are! At the top of the page you can see areas for brides and grooms, photographers, and categories to look through. There is a lot of information up… one of which is a new piece of news!

A Moment in Time Photography is now offering one-on-one mentoring sessions!! Yes, you heard me right, we are offering these sessions to photographers currently in business, or ones who want to get started. For details, hold your mouse over the photographers tab at the top of this webpage, then click on the drop down box that says ‘workshops!’

The session includes hanging out with Jennifer for a day, picking her brain about photography, business, marketing, and even a photo session in the day to practice what you’ve learned, and for helpful hints on editing. These sessions are only offered on Mondays and Fridays currently, call, email, or text us for details!

Here is the page information below:

While A Moment in Time Photography doesn’t currently offer any workshops with large groups, we do offer one-on-one sessions with owner and primary photographer, Jennifer Nieland. We will go over photography 101 (ISO, Aperture, Shutter Speed, Exposure Bias, etc.), how to help make your business grow, SEO for blogs, talk about lighting, marketing, and more. We will also shoot a mini session with either an individual or couple – your choice. We will also shoot some head shots of you for you to use on your website or blog.

Who: Jennifer and you!

What: One-on-One Session

When: Mondays and Fridays (call to see date availability) Workshops last from 9am – 6pm with lunch included in the registration fee at a restaurant of your choice. Abilene does have an airport for those that are flying in.

Where: Downtown Abilene, at A Moment in Time Photography’s studio

Why: to better enhance your skills, knowledge, and get a jump start, or a kick in the tush to get back on track with your business.

Cost: $950

This price is for one photographer to come. For a photographer plus his or her assistant, or for two photographers wanting to do a session together, cost is $1425. We currently don’t offer any larger than a two person group. We try to keep these sessions intimate and want to focus on your individual knowledge and growth.

BlogSite… oh yes!

Welcome to my blogsite! I have now transitioned all information from my old website on to this blog! In the future, when you go to www.photomomentintime.com, you will land here. For information on pricing, FAQ’s, ordering info, or anything else, check out the tool bar at the top of the page.

If you are wanting to look up my wedding, senior, family, etc. portfolio, you can enter that category in the search box at the top of this page, for all of those posts to show up! In addition to that, if you are looking for a specific post, say Stan and Stephanie’s wedding, you can type their first name, search, and voila!

Lastly, if you just don’t like change, or ever need to get back to the old flash website, guess what? It is actually still there. Just go to http://www.photomomentintime.com/index2.php?v=v1 and you will be back! This site will pretty much not be updated but once or twice a year anymore, since all I will need it for now is online proofing for out of town / out of state clients. But, it is still there!

Thanks so much for stopping by! I would love comments about the new blogsite – tell me what you think!!

Open House!!

That’s right, A Moment in Time Photography is having an Open House TOMORROW night from 6:30 – 8:30, Come and Go!! It is going to be a FABULOUS event, with cake by Culinary Chef Kelly Boyden, punch, finger foods, door prizes from The Honeycomb Tree, Paramount Theater, Spano’s Italian Restaurant, McKay’s Bakery, The Party Bag, Cypress Street Station, The Beehive Restaurant, Relics, The Loft at Under One Roof, and, of course, A Moment in Time Photography!

Look for A Moment in Time Photography on Facebook at www.facebook.com/amomentintimephotography and join our fanpage, as well as RSVP’ing to come to the party! I can’t wait to see everyone there!!

A Moment in Time Photography will also have a super fun photo booth to take fun and crazy pictures, and 10% off any session booked tomorrow night, or $150 of any wedding booked that night! You MUST be there and talk to Jennifer in person to take advantage of the discounts!!

For details about the other businesses, see below!

The Honeycomb Tree is an awesome little shop downtown on North 2nd Street. It has really cute jewelry and other gifts, too! It also has antiques set up in different “rooms” for you to browse through. I have personally found several jewelry pieces there, as well as some accessories for the new studio!

The Paramount Theather is a downtown Abilene classic. Whether you have watched a movie, play, concert, or opera in this theater, I am sure you remember being dazzled by wonderful performances, as well as dazzled by the stars in the beautiful ceiling! The Paramount is wonderful for a romantic date!

Spano’s Italian Restaurant is the perfect beginning to a romantic date. Their food is excellent, but the service and atmosphere is unparalleled in Abilene. It is an intimate date, or a wonderful place to go with friends where you can talk in a nice, quiet atmosphere.

McKay’s Bakery is another downtown favorite. Their thumbprint cookies are amazing, as well as their cakes, pies, and pastries. If you have your portrait done with A Moment in Time Photography, you know that at your preview and order session you can always look foward to a box of McKay’s cookies and pink lemonade!

The Party Bag is a new place in Abilene, located in the United Shopping Center on EN 10th and Judge Ely. All of the plates, napkins, silverware, and other party accessories for the Open House were purchased here. They have a wonderful selection of colors and themes for parties from weddings, to bachelor/ bachelorette parties, birthdays, anniversaries, and just because parties! They also make great balloon bouquets that are wonderful for parties, to celebrate a new arrival to a family, or to support your favorite athlete for thier competition!

Cypress Street Station is another wonderful restaurant in downtown Abilene. Their menu is truly great – their is a dish for everyone to enjoy. The atmosphere is also fun for a night out on the town!

The Beehive Restaurant is another Abilene favorite. They started in 1983 in Albany, Texas and had such great success, they opened a restaurant here in Abilene in the beginning part of 2008. They serve only Certified Black Angus Beef that is aged to perfect tenderness and then grilled over mesquite coals for that super yummy flavor that only the Beehive has!

Relics is a home furnishings company downtown. They have everything from home accessories, to furniture, as well as the super-talented owner, Rebecca’s decorating advice!! If you are looking for a fabulous new item to add to your home that is unique and beautiful, Relics is the place to go!

The Loft at Under One Roof is a cute place to meet a friend or spouse for lunch. It is located in conjunction to Under One Roof, which is a great store to find jewelry, accessories, and lots more! If you are wanting to make a trip to Fredericksburg to go to their shops, pass on the trip, and go to Under One Roof!

Whew! That is quite a list! Isn’t Abilene great that it has so many wonderful local establishments!!

See you at the Open House!

Winners of the Give-Away!!

I know you are all here to see the winners of the Christmas Special Give-Away, but I have some exciting news to announce! A Moment in Time Photography now has a STUDIO!!! The lease was signed, the studio painted, furnished, and put together (mostly:)) this week, so from now on, all client meetings as well as preview and order sessions will now be in downtown Abilene! The address is 1133 N. 2nd, Suite 208. We will be hosting an open house soon, so keep checking back for details on when that will be!!

And, now for what you all have checked the blog today for… the WINNERS!! To start off, I chose this bowl from Blue Bell Creameries in Brenham, Texas (where I lived until I was 6) to be our drawing bowl! I carefully wrote each person’s name down as many times as they had entries. We had some with only one entry, and some with all five possible entries!

Here are all of the entries in the bowl just begging to be chosen!

So, I mixed the all up, placed the bowl on my fireplace mantle so I couldn’t peek in, and drew a name!! The winner for the contest is……………………………..
