This wedding! Where do I even begin? To say that the day was catered to Soch and Kati is the understatement of the year!! First of all, the love they have for each other was ever evident throughout the day, from the first sight, to the ceremony, reception, changing into traditional Cambodian Wedding attire to the grand exit, they only had eyes for each other. A friend of theirs, an amazingly talented middle schooler made their wedding cake – a gorgeous naked cake with deep red roses to match the brides burgundy dahlia bouquet. For her white wedding dress, Kati was the epitome of grace and FUN! Just like the bride! And absolutely stunning as well. In her Cambodian wedding dress, she looked like she walked right out of a Disney Princess fairy tale. The setting at The Meadows at Creative was the perfect backdrop as well.
Soch and Kati are just a fun couple to be around! Kati’s laugh is infectious – and I loved that they were true to themselves throughout the day. Soch’s sister was “The Best Men” (a play on their last name – Men), and Kati’s best friend from college was her man of honor. Some of the bridal party ended up running to Sonic before the ceremony for a quick bite to eat! Gotta have Sonic with your friends!
Kati and her family have gone to Southern Hills Church of Christ here in Abilene since forever, and I knew of her family growing up! It was so wonderful to see so many faces from church at this wedding. It was especially wonderful that Soch and Kati’s officiant, Gary Green, has known the Saylor family for decades. The personal message he was able to deliver during the ceremony was both heart warming and also fun. Soch and Kati decided during their wedding to have a foot washing ceremony. First, Soch washed Kati’s feet, and then Kati, Soch’s. There were not too many dry eyes in the audience.
