I had the BEST time this past weekend hanging out with the Saylor and Men families! Friday night was a Cambodian style rehearsal dinner that I can’t wait to edit and show images of! Then Saturday was the main event!! Wedding time! There were so many loved ones gathered to honor Soch and Kati. I hope y’all enjoy this sneak peek and can’t wait to show you the rest!
Hey y’all! Meet Nick, and check out his senior images! I have had the honor of watching Nick grow from a young teen / tween into the awesome young man he is today! Nick’s mom, the beloved “Teacher Amy” was one of my kid’s teachers at the FABULOUS Stepping Stones PreK here in Abilene. Starting in summer 2014, Nick and his older brother Andrew (click HERE for Andrew’s senior photos from two years ago!) have helped me out at weddings that I plan and coordinate! The first wedding they helped me on was none other than Brandon and Taylor’s gorgeous wedding at the Willow Creek Chapel! Just ask him sometime how he feels about tying fake feathers in knots – and untying said knots! – with fishing wire!! He has helped at several more events since then and each time it is wonderful to see how he has gone from a lanky, goofy kid into a **hilarious** fun, light hearted dude, and, more importantly, a man seeking the Lord’s heart. Nick is now at Abilene Christian University I’m sure leading every social event possible and pranking every member in his hall at the dorms!
One of the ways that Nick wanted to make sure hilarity still ensued, even during his photos, was to make SURE to incorporate an image or two with a football! Did Nick finish his last season as a Wylie High School football player? No! Did he play at all at Wylie High? No! Has Nick ever played organized football before? No! Not even once!! Haha! But he insisted that it look like he did at one point or another and thus the photos with the football! Crazy kid. He also wanted to make sure that he got at least one good image of himself and the family golden doodle, Ranger. His mama (ok, the whole fam!) is going to miss having him around the house and I just KNOW it!
So, before I get all Tevye and start signing “Sunrise, Sunset” over here, enjoy the Wylie High School senior images of one Nick Boone.
When Katelyn messaged me a few months ago, I was so excited to hear from her! She and I have known each other since we were about fourteen when we were in the Abilene High School drumline together, specifically the pit. And yes, that involves band camp, super late nights and even more early mornings, and cool band kid tan lines. Katelyn was messaging me to tell me that she had met the love of her life, Jeremy, and they were ENGAGED!! I was and am so thrilled for her! They wanted to meet to talk about me potentially photographing their wedding, bridal, and engagement photos here in Abilene!
For those of you wondering, I always offer free bridal consultations to talk about your *dream* day. A Moment in Time offers photography of course, but also wedding planning and coordination, decor rentals, and a photo booth! It is also super important to meet and make sure that there is a good fit between the bride and groom and the wedding photographer and / or planner. You’re going to be spending a lot of time with your photographer and planner throughout the process and even more time on the big day! You need to make sure you enjoy his or her company!
Back to the fun facts about Jeremy and Katelyn. When I learned that they met online, I started brain storming how we would convey that at their session! As you can see below, first came messaging on computers, then came meeting, getting to know each other, then dating and getting engaged! (see the images with the pretty blue background and their laptops!) Katelyn also some great thoughts and ideas of what she wanted to accomplish with this session. She and Jeremy wanted it to look like half the session was inspired by New England engagement photos, and the other half West Texas engagement photos, including that gorgeous sun flare we got right as the sun was setting!
Enjoy these engagement photos of a wonderful couple, and look forward to their wedding photos come fall!!
